Unlike many of the remote outposts in Ontario's North that require visiting anglers to adopt a spartan existence as a trade off for great wilderness fishing, the outpost cabin at Timberidge Air's Crayon Lake offers shelter, the basic amenities and real comfort - as well as exceptional walleye and northern pike fishing. The second thing that sets it apart from other remote camps is that it has been set up for small groups of two to six anglers anglers. Ideal for husbands & wives, fathers & sons, or lifelong fishin' buddies, the Crayon Lake cabin is a cut above the provincial standard in terms of design and comfort.

Arguably the # 1 fly-in walleye lake in Ontario, "Kag" offers visiting anglers the very best in north-country, fly-in fishing experiences. Multiple limit catches of 2 to 4-pound walleyes are the norm at "Kag" whether you prefer to fish live baits, troll body baits or cast a jig. An expansive, rocky, clear-water lake, Kagianagami offers unlimited opportunities to fish its ideal structural features, and it is not unusual for a good spot to produce scores of walleyes in just a short time. Adjoining, the Opichuan River offers lodge guests more great walleye fishing and early-season brook trout as well. Lake whitefish, northern pike and an underutilized, trophy lake trout fishery round out the angling opportunities at Kagianagami Lake.

Northwest of Nakina, Ontario, within the Geraldton District, lie some of the province's very best fly-in fishing opportunities for walleyes and northern pike. Grey Trout Lake (a.k.a. Faircloth Lake) is one such fly-in site - home to big northern pike and innumerable walleyes. Clear and cool, the 4-mile long, narrow lake also supports an overlooked population of lake trout. The rocky shorelines and main points fall quickly into 7 to 12 feet of water - perfect foraging areas for hungry walleyes on grey, cloudy, windy, even rainy days or during low-light periods early and late in the day. We discovered that the worse the weather, the better the fishing got.
