Sabaskong Bay Lodge is situated in the heart of Sabaskong Bay on a private 10 acre Island, Cedar Island on Lake of the Woods, Canada. Sabaskong Bay Lodge is one of the oldest and finest established lodges on Lake of the Woods. Ernest Calvert, the original owner, having his pick of prime spots on the lake, chose Cedar Island in 1922 for reasons of location, access to great fishing in sheltered bays and breath taking beauty. These reasons are as valid today as they were in 1922.

Muskie - The good old days of muskie fishing are right now at Sabaskong Bay Lodge, Lake of the Woods. Lake of the Woods ranks as one of the best muskie waters in the world. Sabaskong Bay Lodge is located in the heart of the muskie action with all the big fish potential. Our guests fish for the King of all fresh water fish right from our docks and shores of our 10 acre private island home Cedar Island.

Walleye - Walleye fishing is superb at the Lake of the Woods. This is a long time favorite with anglers and is caught in large numbers from mid May through October. Spring fishing follow the shallow shorelines, warmer bays with new vegetation, gravel points and coves with round boulders. Summer the walleye move towards the main lake humps, bay, rock reefs and long tapered points.

Northern Pike - Lake of the Woods offers some of the North Americas best northern fishing. The lake has ideal forage of yellow perch and cisco for the pike to grow quickly. The northern pike is an all time favorite of the sport fisherman, for its fierce action – they can be real “tackle busters”. The lake offers good numbers and a chance at a real trophy. In the early season check the weed lines and shallow weedy bays that have protection from the winds. In the summer when the water exceeds 70 degrees the northern pike will move deeper so fish the deeper weed lines.

Small mouth Bass - These brown battlers are ultimate fighters and a real thrill for the light tackle enthusiast. Populations are improving as the catch–and-release season until June 30 protects the larger spawning adults. They are doing very well in both numbers and size. These fish can be caught in good numbers throughout the season.

"Angling at it's best" You never have to venture far. Sabaskong Bay offers fantastic fishing. Even on the windiest days, the Islands of Lake of the Woods offer great protection. The pristine waters are abundant with Walleye, Trophy Muskie, slab sized Crappie, huge fighting Northern and feisty, exciting Bass. Superb Trout fishing is just minutes away by boat.
