Black Bear, Brown Bear

Manitoba's black bears, next to Alaska, are some of the largest in North America. The World Record black bear, weighing 886 lbs. was killed in a Manitoba traffic accident August of 2001.The oldest female ever aged in Manitoba was 30.3 years, and the oldest male aged was 29.5 years. The bears in our Rupertsland hunting areas come in all of the color phases from blond, brown,cinnamon to black.

Rupertsland Guiding & Outfitting have been outfitting since 1988, and have welcomed hunters from all over Europe, USA, and Canada. Our success rate is 98%. We have entered 24 rifle trophies with over 19 inches in skull size into the Manitoba Record Book. Many more trophies have qualified for the Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett record books.

After 15 years of Outfitting, hunters from all over Europe, USA and Canada have harvested a total of 264 bears. Of this total, 41 bears have qualified for the Manitoba Record Book which include Boone & Crockett as well as Pope & Young .

Rupertsland Guiding & Outfitting has been operating since 1988. Our hunting areas consistantly produce some of the largest black bears in Manitoba. To date 49 trophy bears with a skull size of 19+ are entered into the record books. The bears in our hunting areas come in all of the color phases from blond, brown,cinnamon to black.

To reach Rupertsland's remote bear hunting areas, we travel by ATVs, 4 wheel drive vehicles and boats. Bear Hunter to guide ratio is not more than three hunters per guide.

Rupertsland Guiding & Outfitting guides are professional and very well trained for services which includethe the preparation of outstanding meals, the care of your trophy and wild meat, and maintaining the equipment needed in a remote area for safe bear hunting.

Accommodations during your bear hunting trip are two rustic and comfortable camps at Katamik Lake and William Lake.
