The Rod & Reel is one of the oldest and most distinguished "family-run" resorts in Sioux Narrows. First introduced to Sioux Narrows in 1937, Chauncey Motlong established the Rod & Reel in 1943. Originally consisting of a hamburger stand and 5 cabins, the operation now boasts a 3 storey main lodge, 11 cabins, 4 motel rooms, complete marina, beautiful sand beach and a fully licensed restaurant. Throughout the history of the Rod & Reel, our main goal has been to help create unforgetable fishing holidays. Quality accommodations with traditional "Northwoods" hospitality and personalized service help turn simple vacations into Family Traditions, that keep our guests coming back year after year and from one generation to the next.

The ROD & REEL (on Highway 71) is 130 km (90 miles) from International Falls, Minnesota which has Northwest Air-Link with Minneapolis. Ground transportation is provided to the lodge for a minimal charge. We are 320 km (200 miles) from Winnipeg, Manitoba which has International Air Service. Travel Options in Kenora, Ontario offers package travel rates directly to Motlong's Rod & Reel. Private planes may land at Kenora, 80 km (50 miles) or Nestor Falls, 40 km (25 miles).
