Labrador Angling Adventures located at Awesome Lake Lodge, Newfoundland and Labrador, is a remote and unspoiled wilderness destination with virgin waters and brook trout fishing you can only dream about.

Sportfishing adventures you'll long remember await in Awesome Lake and the English River system. The fishhave never seen an artificial fly, this is some of the best fishing to be found in Labrador, both in quantity and quality of fish.

The game fish resource here is entirely Eastern brook trout, or "brookies", in a pure trout environment - which means no Northern Pike, no whitefish, indeed no other species with the exception of white suckers. The system is inaccessible to other species due to a 22 meter vertical falls at the base of English River, some 30 miles or so from our lake. The sizes of these brook trout are fantastic. Fish up to three pounds are common, specimens of five to six pounds are taken each year by skilled anglers, and guests have enjoyed the catch and release of trout exceeding eight pounds. In the last several years, witnesses claim to have seen specimens that are at least as large as the present world record (14 pounds, eight ounces).

The usual average is three to six pounds, with some growing even larger. Outlying fishing camps can also be used to explore the nearby region
