PEARL ISLANDS - Between the many that surround the coasts of the Isthmus of Panama, this group of islands can well be considered as one of the most important. The greater island, called King's Island or San Miguel, is a natural refuge for the magnificent shrimp fleet, that serves the industry with its frozen products and occupies a prominent place in the country's exports. Each one of the other islands has its own particularity, but all in common show a paradise of beaches, white sands, palm trees, and clear tropical waters.

PINAS BAY - Pinas Bay is located south of the Jungles of the Darien Province. It has been home for many world fishing tournaments; this place is recognized internationally as one of the best in its kind. With its 140+ fishing records, it offers some of the world's most popular gamefish including Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Roosterfish, Pacific Sailfish, Snapper, Dorado, Grouper and Amberjack. No industrial type fishing is carried out in this area, on the other hand, sport fishing has been very popular, specially among the "rich & famous" including many movie stars.

COIBA ISLAND & HANNIBAL BANK - Panama, thanks to its strategic global position, is blessed with unique offshore currents, which continually bring in migrating pelagics. Coiba, situated in the province of Veraguas, of volcanic origin, is the largest island in the country, surrounded by smaller ones that have been kept practically untouched. Under these waters lies a magical place for hard core fishermen. It's called the Hannibal Bank, a sea mount that begins at 6,000 feet deep and rises to less than 200 feet beneath the surface. Here, and with optimum conditions, ocean currents push hundreds of schools of bait fish up on the pinnacle and the pelagic game fish of the ocean come to feast, its also recognized as one of the best places in the world to catch black marlin and yellowfin tuna. Though available year around, the Panamanian "summer season" (December through April) is considered the prime time to fish for this combination.
